Chamber Committees

Looking for a way to get more involved? Your Chamber offers members many opportunities to share their expertise and enthusiasm with the community. Our committees support and function in many areas, including governance, programs and membership development. Aging in Place Committee

The mission of the Aging in Place Committee is to educate the community about local services supporting vitality and choice in the second half of life and to provide a forum for discussion and collaboration about the issues surrounding aging in place.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce is a membership outreach and retention program designed to involve and inform all Chamber members and prospective members. Ambassadors are volunteers who, on behalf of the Chamber, make goodwill calls to encourage membership participation and active support of Chamber programs. Ambassadors generate excitement and enthusiasm through participation in ribbon cuttings, grand opening, Business After Hours, and other Chamber networking events and functions.

Business Councils

The mission of the Business Councils is to provide businesses an opportunity to connect through informational and educational meetings, promoting the economic vitality and quality of life throughout the community. Business Councils include:

  • Broadway-Timberville (Broadway-Timberville area)
  • East Rockingham (Elkton, McGaheysville, Penn Laird & Grottoes area)
  • Greater Ashby (Bridgewater, Dayton & Mount Crawford area)

Diversity Business Council

The mission of the Diversity Business Council is to work to educate the business community on various diversity issues in the form of outreach, programs, and general awareness campaigns. One of the more prominent programs the Council has created is the B-Cubed (Black and Brown Owned Business Growth Program) initiative.

Public Policy

The mission of the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee is to provide a forum for members to discuss and establish positions on public policy issues. The committee focuses on topics such as education, health care, transportation, tax policy and related business-climate issues.

Women's Empowerment Network

The mission of the Women's Empowerment Network is to bring women together to empower each other professionally and personally within the Shenandoah Valley
